About the Friends of the Library
Chartered in 1981, the Friends of the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library support the Library's projects and needs through fundraising.
The purpose of the Friends is to:
- Maintain an association of persons interested in the Library
- Focus public attention on the Library
- Stimulate the use of the Library's resources and services
- Encourage and receive gifts, endowments and bequests to benefit the Library
- Support and cooperate with the Library in developing its services and facilities
- Support the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights
Why Become a Friend?
The Friends contribute time, talent, and money as a supporting organization for the Library. They also host various Library functions and provide volunteers for projects.
Friends' activities include:
- Library Book Sales
- Summer Reading Program events
- Books for Kids
- The Friends' annual meeting and program
- Providing hospitality for Library events, including the Community Read.
Friends Facts
- Since their inception, the Friends have donated over $100,000 to the Library.
- In 2025, the Friends of the Library donated over 750 books to local children through their Books for Kids program.
- In 2010, the Friends were integral in passing the Library's first level. The group provided ads, put out yard signs, and campaigned for the Library.
