Planning Your Research Visit

If you would like to stop in and browse our Genealogy section, Information Services staff members are happy to give you a tour of the collection and help you begin your research. If you are arriving from out of town, it is recommended that you schedule an appointment with our Local History and Genealogy Specialist Jessica Hoehn. Finding Obituaries

Our Information Services Department is available to help with your research. Staff members are able to log onto the Ohio Obituary Index to search for Ohio obituaries. Brief death notices, marriage announcements, divorces, etc, may also be indexed in the database.

Obituaries can be obtained at a cost of $3.00 per record. A name search will carry a fee of $10 per person. Please mail a check or money order payable to Tiffin-Seneca Public Library with your request. By providing staff with your email address, documents can be scanned and emailed directly to you.

Requests are limited to three records at a time. Upon delivery, three more records may be requested.

Seneca County history and genealogy are featured in a collection of more than 1,000 books and periodicals. Microfilm records and indexes for local historical material are housed in the library.
