Library Closings

Closing for Emergencies

 

  1. The Library Director or their designee may close the Library during emergencies or other extraordinary circumstances.
     
  2. During such times, the Library's primary consideration will be ensuring everyone's safety.
     
  3. The Library cooperates fully with public safety departments and emergency service providers.
     
  4. Staff members who were scheduled to work during an emergency closing will be paid for those hours, provided they had not already called off before the decision to close was announced.
     

Holidays
 

  1. Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is closed on the following holidays:
    • New Year's Day
    • Martin Luther King Day
    • Presidents' Day
    • Memorial Day
    • Juneteenth
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
    • Veterans' Day
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas Eve
    • Christmas Day
       
  2. The Library is closed on the second Monday of October for staff training.
     
  3. The Library generally follows the Federal government when deciding when to observe holidays.
     
  4. The Library may also observe holidays declared by proclamation at any level of government.
     

  5. The Library closes at 3:00 PM on the day before Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve.
